Healthy Culinary Contest

crispersJunior Achievement of Lake & Sumter Counties in partnership with Crispers Restaurant presents the annual Healthy Culinary Contest for the 5th Graders in Lake County.

Both of our organizations are aware of the rising rate of obesity in our youth and identify with the importance of teaching the younger generations how to eat healthy by making wise choices for food. By partnering with Crispers we hope to teach students that eating healthy is just as important for their future as planning their careers.

Students submit their recipe for a salad created from a given list of ingredients – Salad Mix, Proteins, Fruits, Veggies, and Dressings. The award winning salads will be presented at a Healthy Culinary Night where the public will get to vote for their favorite salad. Additionally, Junior Achievement will receive a percentage of the proceeds from these nights to help with funding the Junior Achievement programs in local schools.
